4,000 United Miles for Netflix. Let’s Do This.
I’ve been waiting to re-up my Netflix account so I could get a “hit” for the US Airways Grand Slam, but my patience may have just run out. First, if you don’t know what the Grand Slam is, let me explain.
The Grand Slam is a promotion that US Airways has done the last few years, but its been crickets on this year’s promotion. It is usually under way this time of year, but I’m not sure it’s going to happen this year. Maybe it’s all this merger with AA talk, or they realized they were getting taken advantage of by savvy miles junkies. I don’t know.
Anyway, one of the promotion’s partners is/was Netflix, and you (would) get a “hit” if you signed up with your US Airways Dividend number. The more hits, the more miles. Easy. But, since they’ve left us hanging, I decided I couldn’t wait any longer. I’ve missed being able to stream movies and TV shows. I know, it’s a rough life. So when Jordan started “hinting” that she wanted Netflix back (and that she didn’t care about the Grand Slam), it was time to find the best Netflix promo out there.
Within minutes, I located a deal that would give me 2,000 United miles for signing up and another 2,000 miles if I used a United backed credit card. I may have one of those lying around somewhere. That’s an easy 4,000 United miles for something I really enjoy. Boom. When my 2 loves collide.
Since I’ve already had Netflix before and this promo is for FIRST time users only- I had to switch some things up. I used an email address that I haven’t used before (yes, I’m on my third or fourth email) and I have a United backed card that I haven’t used before. Easy. And, I didn’t have to put in an address since I’m only buying the streaming service. Yup.
TIP: If you are already a Netflix member and want to cancel and take advantage of this offer, don’t forget to clear your cookies or open up a different browser.
Being married is great for many reasons, but one of them is that I’ve been able to sign up for a quite a few Netflix accounts in the last couple of years. Most airlines have a Netflix sign-up bonus. Balling. I keep rotating accounts every 6 months or so. It’s the Netflix cycle. Every mile counts. If you’re single, don’t get depressed. As long as you enter in a different email and use a different card, you should be fine. But of course, YMMV.
