Ink products offer new travel partners.
Ink Insider has rolled out new partnerships that offer some increased benefits for members. Ink Insider is a program tied to Ink credit cards, such as the Ink Bold® Business Card and Ink Plus® Business Card.
Expedia
Last month, Expedia partnered with Ink and rolled out a business rewards program. The highlight of this relationship is that Ink card holders who enroll (for free) will receive $100 in Expedia credit for every 10 hotel stays. This will benefit businesses who pay for employees to travel often. Also, this won’t disqualify the individual employee from still earning personal rewards with Expedia. Could be cool.
There’s also a nifty management tool for business rewards administrators to track spending, itineraries, and company rewards earned. The one bummer is that the business rewards administrator can’t book reward nights through the Expedia business account. This will still need to happen through the individual’s personal Expedia account.
Now, Ink Insider has teamed up with even more companies. On to my favorite…
Avis
This is the one partnership I was most excited about. I usually use Avis, because I can find a low rate by using an AWD code. Enrolling gets you access to exclusive savings with Avis and a special AWD code that can save you up to 30%. I like that. You will also get a free rental day for every 7 days, one car class upgrade (treat yourself), half price on GPS rentals, and complimentary Avis First Membership.
There’s some real value here. I like the up to 30% discount, but you check other AWD codes too. I usually check a few to find the lowest rate when I’m renting a car. And for businesses that rent cars often, they will be able to rack up free rentals quickly. I also like the free one car-class upgrade. Freebies.
An interesting feature is the complimentary Avis first membership. Here’s the deets:
When you become a member of AVIS FIRST, you have access to high-end services and some of the finest vehicles in the rental car industry. Here are just a few exclusive benefits you can enjoy from this special program:
- Two-day Weekend Rental Rewards with every fourth qualifying rental of two or more days
- No black out restrictions on your Weekend Rental Rewards — use them any place, any time
- FREE one-car class upgrades when available – to get you to your destination in style
- Continued Preferred Service – skip the lines and go directly to your vehicle
- Dedicated 800 number available day and night – for service at your convenience
- Members-only Web site that gives you easy access to special offers, your personal profile and online support 24/7
You will automatically be upgraded to Avis First if you’re already enrolled in Preferred Service. Click here to enroll in Preferred Service
Don’t forget- you can go through the Ultimate Rewards mall to Avis and receive a 3x UR bonus per $1. AND, if you use your Sapphire Preferred or Ink Bold, you will get an additional 2x, because car rentals are categorized under travel. I’m getting pumped up now.
Sign up here to team up with Avis.
Other partnerships
The other partnerships aren’t travel related, but have more to do with small businesses. They are:
- Chase Payment Tech Future Proofed - a free payment terminal that is future proofed, by being able to accept payments via swipe, chip cards, mobile wallets, and contact less cards. Hmmm, I may have to look into getting one of these.
- Chase Payment Tech Virtual Payment - accept, authorize, and analyze payments from computers. Not sure about this one.
- Google webinars to enhance your business.
Closings
I love my new Ink Plus Business Card, because it has given me a new opportunity to earn my favorite points….Ultimate Rewards. And everyone knows I lusted after my Ink Bold for a while.
The Ink cards are already great cards and must haves, but it’s still nice to see Chase adding some more perks. I like the new Expedia partnership, but I’m really intrigued by the Avis partnership. I’m an Avis guy, so if I can get some additional benefits from cards that I already hold- it’s a no brainer for me.
I wouldn’t sign up for any Ink Cards just for these deals, but there are plenty of other reasons to apply for the Ink products of you’re thinking about it. Here are the links if you’re looking to apply. Disclaimer: I do receive a referral credit if you apply through my links. I’m truly grateful for the support!

American Airlines has rolled out two great promos for renting cars. When traveling, renting cars can be a very convenient way to get around and explore. But they can be be expensive, and often earn you little miles bonuses.
This is where these two promos come in to play. You will receive a discount and an AAdvantage miles bonus! Double dipping.
I have an upcoming trip to Europe and I’m looking to rent a car, so I got all excited when I saw these two offers. However, August 31 is the last day for this promotion. Boo. I don’t leave until early September. So I got depressed. But wait, then I received another email from AA and Budget and there’s a new promo for Budget until September 30th. I’m happy again.
BUDGET PROMO
Special car rental offer is available from August 6, 2012 until September 30, 2012.
- American Airlines AAdvantage® members can now earn 20x AAdvantage miles — that’s 1,000 miles per rental day!
- Simply rent a Budget vehicle for 2 or more consecutive days at participating airport locations in the U.S. & Canada. Use coupon number MUAZ013.
- Plus, save up to 30% off your rental when you use BCD #U072421.
- Always remember to provide your AAdvantage number at time of reservation or at the rental counter to receive your miles and discount.
You will receive up to a 30% discount when using the Budget Coupon Discount #U07242. Balling! And you will get 1,000 AAdvantage Miles a day up to 10 days! I’m looking for a 5 day car rental, so at the very least, that’s going to net me 5,000 bonus AAdvantage miles.
Here’s the link for the AAdvantage Budget Promo.
AVIS PROMO
Unfortunately this promo ends Aug. 31. I’m bummed, since I usually look to Avis first for all of my car rental needs. This is a great promo if you can take advantage of it.
- Earn 3,000 AAdvantage® bonus miles on rentals of 1-2 days.
- Earn 5,000 AAdvantage® bonus miles on rentals of 3 days or more.
- Use coupon number MUAA035 and provide your AAdvantage number to earn your AAdvantage® miles.
- Save up to 35% on rentals at Avis airport locations worldwide when you use your American Airlines Avis Worldwide Discount (AWD) number K817165
You could save an incredible 35% on Avis rentals from airports by using the AWD code k817165! Bang. And if that isn’t enough, you get 3,000 AAdvantage miles on 1-2 day rentals and a killer 5,000 AAdvantage bonus on rentals of 3 days or more. I like these numbers a lot.
Here’s where you can go save on Avis rentals and rack up an AAdvantage bonus.
And there’s more.
Don’t forget, you can go through the Ultimate Rewards mall to Avis and receive a 3x UR bonus per $1 (2x per $1 with Budget). AND, if you use your Sapphire Preferred or Ink Bold, you would get an additional 2x, because car rentals are categorized under travel. I’m getting pumped up now.
I like these two deals very much and they can both add incredible value when renting a car. I will definitely be trying to take advantage of the Budget deal on my upcoming trips next month.

Read MoreHere’s Something Different: Renting a Car on the Cheap.
I actually haven’t rented too many cars in my day, but I’m needing to rent a sweet set of wheels on my upcoming trip to San Fran/Napa. I’m thinking an Escalade. That’s practical, right?
Since I really haven’t rented many cars before, I wanted to make sure I was living the miles high life and getting full value for my rental. I want a redic low rate, or to earn some miles in bunches, OR both. I want it all. You can also rent cars with miles, but I’m choosing not to this time. I need to save those for flights and hotels.
Also, I wanted to see if I could get some kind of free Elite Status with a program in efforts to get an upgrade or any other car renting perks. I love the perks.
Here are the two options that I found:
Avis and the AWD code
A friend of mine has booked an Avis car numerous times using an Avis World Discount (AWD). All you do is plug in a code and check the quote. Super easy. But where do you get these codes? Simple. Just google Avis AWD, and you will find plenty of sites pimping these codes. Also, there is a thread in flyertalk dedicated to Avis discount codes. Now you may have to try a few to find the price you want, but the savings are there.
When we went to Europe, we rented a car for 12 days for $350. That’s pretty good in my book. I have plugged in some of the codes for my upcoming trip and have been able to find a car for 5 days for only $128 (excluding taxes)! That’s less than $30 a day. Respect.
There are also upgrade codes and coupon codes where you can save even more. I love sweet upgrades! Here are some of the codes that I have been playing around with for my upcoming trip.
A442100- AWD
W300012- AWD
MUAA041-AWD
S767700- AWD
B790000- AWD
UUGA029 – Coupon
X846850- AWD
MUWA130- Coupon $35 off at the counter
Z784187- AWD
As you can see, there are a lot of options when trying to find a code that saves you money. They are all just a google search away or you can just come to Noobtraveler.com
Hertz and the free Gold Status
Currently, there is a Hertz and American Airlines promo going on.
Hertz will give you 4 American Airlines miles per $1 spent at Hertz until Sept. 30. Plus, you will get 35% off your bill! This is a deal worth looking into.
Here is the link to the promo and more details.
Also, you can get free Hertz Gold Status. You have until June 30th to take advantage of the $60 waived enrollment fee. Some of the Hertz Gold Status Benefits are:
- Faster service by not having to wait at the counter doing paperwork
- Spouse will not longer have to pay an additional fee to drive the car
- Faster car return- just sign the slip and go
- Mobile update and alerts
These are a couple car rental programs and a couple ways to find a good value when you are renting a car domestically or overseas. I saved over $10o by adding an Avis code on my upcoming trip. It’s almost too easy people. I’m thinking convertible.
I hope this helps, and best of luck planning any upcoming trips you may have.
