[Possibly] New American Express Rewards Card Opportunities
The best American Express offers are usually the targeted ones, and in some situations – limited time offers.
Oh, btw – sorry if I have been late on emails or comments. I’ve been hit by the worst thing in Austin: allergies.
Anyway, remember a couple of months ago when the 100,000 American Express Platinum offer appeared? Yeah, me too. I got it. Well, the offer was found by going through creditcards.com and their CARDMATCHTM tool.
Edit: Cardmatch doesn’t guarantee this offers. All offers are different based on each persons data.
Just click the link, then —> “Offers Matched For You” in the upper left corner of the site —> enter in your information (you can leave out your social security number), and see what offers you get. Here’s what I saw:
Not too shabby! There’s a 50,000 American Express Premier Rewards Gold card (public offer is 25k), and a Delta Gold offer for 45,000 miles.
Important: On the Amex Premier Rewards Gold card, the terms say:
“Welcome bonus offer not available to applicants who have had this product within the last 12 months or any other Consumer ZYNC®, Green or Gold Card or Platinum Card® account within the last 90 days.”
That means it would need to be at least 12 months since your canceled your previous PRG card, OR 90 days since your canceled your Zync, Green Gold, or Platinum card.
American Express business cards won’t have an effect on your personal application.
The Delta card isn’t considered to be in the same group of charge cards mentioned above, so it doesn’t apply. However, if you have had a Delta card before, and want to apply for this offer, you would have to cancel at least 12 months before.
If you’re looking to add an American Express business card into the mix, there’s a LTO for the The Business Platinum Card® from American Express with 25,000 Membership Rewards points after spending $5k in 3 months. Not the best, but the usual sign-up bonus for this card is 000. Plus, you get all the crazy good Platinum bennies. I’ve been enjoying mine on the personal card for sure.
Also, when applying for American Express cards, make sure that you’re signed out of your American Express online account. If you still aren’t able to apply, try a different browser or clear your cookies/cache.
(Many have blogged about this, but I saw it first on thepointsguy.com)
I hope this helps! And now, I’m going to knock myself out so I can quit sneezing…
[Disclosure: I don't receive a referral credit for the exclusive offers, but I do for the Platinum Business card.]
