Rumor has it: New Rewards Card(s) in 2 weeks? I hope so.

Rumors have been running wild about “new cards” coming out in a couple weeks, so I have been getting a few emails and comments with questions.

Yes, there are some new rewards cards scheduled to come out in a couple weeks, and that’s about all the details I can say. People’s imaginations are running away with the possibilities, and I don’t blame them- It’s exciting.

Readers have emailed me saying they have heard there are going to be new Discover, Diners Club, Club Carlson, Amex, SPG, and of course, Chase cards hitting in a couple weeks. Oh, the rumors. I won’t make any specific call outs, but some of the 3 major players should be involved.

I actually dream of the big banks competing with each other with bigger and bigger sign-up bonuses. At some point, one would think Amex would have had it with all the marketshare Chase has eaten up in the last year. I think that, but what do I know.

But nothing is certain yet, and I have been told that it would be “two weeks” before, and it has turned into a month or two. (Ahem, the British Airways card was supposed to launch a couple months before it did.) I’m not trying to rain on anyone’s cotton candy (I’m stoked too), but I have been burned before, so I’ll believe it when I see it.

The good news is, it’s not all doom and gloom with the British Airways going away. Hell, even the Southwest 50,000 Visa is back (see here), so here’s to hoping the rest of 2012 will be filled with mega sign-up bonuses spread across all the banks.

Of course, I will be posting more info when I can, and when I know more. I think we will all be happy. But keep checking for the latest updates and hopefully we will have some nice new rewards card products with some nice very large mucho grande sign-up bonuses.

I was reading about these rumors last night, but I *just* had my app party. I had a legit nightmare that I applied to all the new cards and my credit score dropped below 600. :P Hopefully these new offers stick around for 3 months!

Hi Carolyn- Lol, that is a nightmare! Nothing I have been told points to “one day” specials or LTO’s. You should be able to take advantage of any new offers released.
